​​Q: Is this your first time to film alone?
​A: Yes, I feel excited and at the same time worried if I’ll be able to do well.

​Q: When you hear the word “photo shoot”, what kind of imagination comes to your mind? Now that it’s finished, how do you feel?
​A: I feel sad. I think I was very nervous. I think I’ll do better next time (smiles).

​Q: Next time is next time, but today you’re pretty when you smile.
​A: I originally smile a lot when I’m embarassed (smiles).

​Q: When you have your next photoshoot, is there a special clothing or style you want to try?
​A: I want to dress like a rebel (mischievous/naughty). I also want to challenge a photoshoot that has a really heavy atmosphere.

​Q: We heard you have a photo at a subway station. Do you feel your popularity lately?
​A: Definitely there seems to be a lot of people who likes me. I haven’t seen my photo yet at the subway station. When I was a trainee, I saw B1A4 seniors’ photo at a subway station. I was jealous, it didn’t seem like it will happen to me but now that it did, I’m proud and very thankful.

​Q: You trained for a really long time.
​A: There were hard times too. As time passes by, I worried a lot if I will really be able to debut. I went to a trip to Busan with the members whom I’ve trained with, at that time I became close with them and gained strength.

​Q: How is the Hyojin before and after <MIXNINE> different?
​A: At first, I started with thinking I should show everything that I have. But when reality started, I realized that just me working hard alone is not enough. It may be important to be good but it’s also a must to match with the other participants, I also learned a lot about my personality.

​Q: Your debut is approaching. Since last July ​(t/n it said July) ​you made your debut with ONF, this makes it your second debut. How are they different?
​A: When I made my debut with ONF, I trained for a long time, didn’t have experiences on stage, and was very nervous. This time, after going on this competition, my lacking points have been improved so I think I can show my improved self. However ONF and <MIXNINE> have different images so I’m worried how I’ll show myself.

​Q: Is there any particular member you’re more close to?
​A: I have two. Hangyeom and Donghyun hyung. I’m very shy of strangers so I’m not good at making new friends, however Hangyeom approached me first like a long time friend so I was able to open up to him. During trainee days, Donghyun hyung’s dorm is close so on the way to practice we sometimes run into each other. We both know that we’re trainees but we were not greeting each other, so when we met at the competition we were glad to see each other. We became instantly close.

Q: During the program, you’re often showed blaming yourself.
​​​A: I’m like a perfectionist so I can’t simply move on even from small mistakes. I’m the type to resent and blame myself for small mistakes. During <MIXNINE> I was even elected as leader so for me not to repeat those trivial mistakes I pushed myself hard.

​Q: You placed 2nd in the final ranking. How do you feel?
​A: I don’t dwell on the ranking. I joined so I can show mine and ONF’s many sides. As a result I ranked high, even if I placed 2nd I’m thankful and satisfied.

​Q: You’re now one year into your debut. Is there anything you want to do?
​A: I have a lot of greed for singing. I want to show my developed singing skills.

​Q: Is there any singers you want to work with?
​A: I like the songs B1A4’s Jinyoung has produced. I also like Park Hyoshin as a vocalist. I’d really like it if we will be able to work together.

​Q: Do you have anything you want to say through this interview?
​A: I reall want to thank my parents. I started training at 19 years old, for those six years they have worried a lot. Because they have unchangingly believed and supported me, I was able to debut. I will now repay them.

​Q: What’s the first thing you want to give your parents as a gift?
​A: I want to buy them a new car.
